Dr. Shamseldin Gouda
DVM
Dr. Shamseldin Gouda, DVM, is another one of our veterinarians who is currently in hospital every Monday; he has been dedicated and extremely passionate towards the field for over four decades now. Dr. Gouda became licensed in California in 1980 and was finally able to start his dream of not only working with but finding the best solutions for every beloved animal on a day to day basis. He has been alongside our clinic since 2016 where he constantly is keeping busy and continuing his education in order to provide quality care for each individual that walks into the practice. While here Dr. Gouda also performs low-cost spays and neuters to be able to give back to the community through the local animal shelter.
Dr. Gouda is very family oriented so he enjoys spending a lot of time with not only his grandchildren but his four legged felines; Egypt and Flower, when he isn’t working. He also has a passion for gardening that he keeps up in his spare time that brings him moments of peace from his average buzzing lifestyle.
Dr. Athena Kepler
DVM
Dr. Athena Kepler, DVM, our third veterinarian, joined our team in 2022 and is in our hospital every Friday and Saturday; she takes pride in making the animals feel comfortable during their visits and the owners as well. Dr. Kepler achieved her goal of becoming a licensed veterinarian when she graduated from Western University in 2019. She has a strong interest and passion in medicine; specifically food and general allergy treatment, lameness, and surgical procedures that are commonly done on our animals.
Dr. Kepler not only loves competing in Schutzhund shows with her German Shepherds but she has a strong desire to preserve the breed by continuing to focus and improve on their health, temperament and well-being by raising her own litters. She has her own home farm where she also takes care of chickens, goats, sheep, and two horses that she often does classical dressage and eventing with. Dr. Kepler enjoys finding new areas to go camping where she can bring both of them to relax in her free time outside of the hospital.
Dr. Mark Farrar
DVM
Dr. Mark Farrar, DVM, created and opened the doors to Animal Hospital of Eagle Glen in 2011, but his interest and passion for animals started early on in his life. In 1988, Dr. Farrar graduated from UC Davis where his career was finally able to kick start and he hasn’t looked back since. Dr. Farrar takes his time with each pet that walks into the hospital because not only is the current patient his highest priority but getting to know every individual and their specific needs is something he finds joy in doing. There is no better feeling than seeing your beloved pets get back to their normal selves. He loves building relationships with the clients so everyone can feel as comfortable as possible knowing their pet is being treated as his very own. Dr. Farrar is a highly knowledgeable, skillful surgeon and still proceeds to continue his education in order to be on top of the best treatment for your pets. He also values having an active interest in internal medicine and dental health.
Dr. Farrar has a handful of hobbies outside of the hospital which include spending time on the family ranch with his dogs, horses and chickens as well as playing guitar. With everything he does he continues to broaden his talents which has now led him into practicing the drums.
